Abby Finley

Mr. Abby Finley, 87, of Murray, KY, died Friday, January 28, 2011 at 7:26 p.m. at the Murray Calloway Co. Hospital. Mr. Finley was born in Logan, West Virginia on September 7, 1923 to the late Jay Finley and Mary Napier Finley. Mr. Finley retired as an iron worker and he was a member of the Westside Baptist Church in Murray. He was also an Army Veteran of WWII.
In addition to his parents Mr. Finley was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Tabor and Yvonne Mead; and five brothers, Byrd Finley, Charley Finley, Jay Finley, Jr., Frank Finley, Sr. and Jake Finley.
Mr. Finley is survived by his wife, Ida Finely, which were married September 6, 1947 in Ottumwa, Iowa; one daughter, Janeen Sutton of Murray; two sisters, Joan Bayan of Flowery Branch, Georgia and Martha Sue Jones of Montpelier, Indiana.; one granddaughter, Audree Franklin and husband Ed of Sandwich, Illinois; four great grandchildren, Hunter K. Franklin, Paige A. Franklin, Zoe E. Franklin and Devin V. Franklin; also several nieces and nephews survive.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H Churchill Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. – until funeral hour at the funeral home. Burial will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cadillac Memorial Gardens East in Mount Clemens, Michigan.
