Mrs. Adelaide Robbins Schoenfeldt, age 83, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024, at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House.
Mrs. Schoenfeldt was born on April 8, 1940, in Mayfield, Kentucky, to the late Farland Robbins and Elwyn Lyon Robbins. She graduated from Mayfield High School in 1958. She attended Memphis State University, graduating with a degree in Sociology in 1963. She was a member of the Tri Delta Sorority. On November 30th, 1963, she married her husband Roger, in Mayfield, Kentucky. She was a retired medical transcriptionist and secretary working for multiple physicians and Murray State University. She was of the Presbyterian faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Caroline Winter Schoenfeldt; brother, Kent M. Robbins; nephew, Hal Leathers.
Survivors include her husband of sixty years, Dr. Roger Schoenfeldt, of Murray, Kentucky; daughter, Anne Schoenfeldt Ensor and husband John of Stanardsville, Virginia; one brother, Gayle B. Robbins and wife Diane of Mayfield, Kentucky; sister-in-law, Kathy Robbins of Hendersonville, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Morgan E. Ensor and Garrett E. Ensor both of Stanardsville, Virginia; two nieces, Tricia Carpenter of Lexington, Kentucky and Katy Robbins of Nashville Tennessee; four nephews, Scott Robbins and wife Emily of Mayfield, Kentucky, Jonathan Robbins and wife Raven of Nashville, Tennessee, Curtis Leathers and wife Julie of San Antonio, Texas and John Miller of Independence, Kansas.
We would like to thank The Farms at Puryear for their love, care, and patience during her time at their facility.
Thank You to Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House for providing compassionate care during her transition and guiding us in her final days.
Martha, you will always hold a special place in our hearts for being a dear friend and caregiver for twenty-five years. Thank you for loving her so well.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the Murray City Cemetery. John Dale will officiate, and burial will follow. No public visitation will be held.
