Mr. Aldean Laverne Hough, age 87, of Murray, Kentucky died on Friday, January 27, 2017 at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House in Murray, Kentucky.
Mr. Hough was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on January 13, 1930 to the late Walter Leroy Hough and Mabel Devore Hough.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Janet Elaine Hightree Hough; three sisters, Margaret Schmidt, Opal Franklin and Beulah Silverman; one brother, Leroy Hough.
Mr. Hough was a retired English Professor with Murray State University and a member and former elder of the First Presbyterian Church. He was a graduate of Tulsa University and earned a Master's Degree at Kansas State University. Mr. Hough was an army Veteran of the Korean War, served on the Senior Citizen's Board, and was a longtime Meals on Wheels volunteer and a member of the Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Jones of Baltimore, Maryland and Becky Jones and husband Jerry of Mayfield, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Cat Dulley and husband Tom of Nashville, Tennessee, Caroline Jones of Baltimore, Maryland, Matt Jones of Mayfield, Kentucky and Rachel Jones of Murray, Kentucky. Also surviving are two great-grandchildren, Rebecca Dulley and Lucas Dulley of Nashville, Tennessee.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Renee Meyers officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, January 30, 2017 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
