Aliese Paschall

Annie Aliese (James) Paschall, 87, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2011, at Eastview Terrace in Sullivan, Illinois.
Aliese was born June 25, 1923 in Calloway County, the daughter of Aubrey G. and Daisy Radford James. She graduated from Kirksey High School at age 15 as valedictorian of the 1939 class, and with honors from Murray State Teachers College (now Murray State University) where she was a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority.
She taught home economics in Kirksey, in Moweaqua, Illinois, and then at Sullivan High School in Sullivan, Illinois, for 33 years, retiring in 1981. She married Ralph M. Paschall of Lynn Grove on August 7, 1948, in Kirksey and he preceded her in death on April 17, 2005.
Survivors include her daughter Joyce Paschall of Palatine, Illinois, brother Joe Pat James of Murray, Kentucky, sister Lorraine Miles of Midland, Texas, nephews Kevin Miles of Midland, Texas and Ross James of The Colony, Texas, nieces Barbara Covington of Midland, Texas and Cheryl Jominy of Coral Springs, Florida, and several great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, Cordis James.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sullivan where she supported and participated in many projects over the years, was a member of the Illinois Retired Teachers Association and had been an active volunteer in the Sullivan area.
Funeral service will be held Friday, February 11, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 10, 2011 from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
