Alphus "Al' Adair

Mr. Alphus "Al" D. Adair, age 78, of Murray, Kentucky died on Monday, April 25, 2016 at the Murray – Calloway County Hospital.

Mr. Adair was born in Gaffney, South Carolina on March 15, 1938 to the late John Wesley Adair and Pearl May (Wright) Adair. Mr. Adair before retiring worked as a life insurance salesman. He was of the Church of God faith.

In addition to his parents Mr. Adair was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary (Bishop) Adair, who died in 2007; one daughter, Wendy Hughes; three sisters; and two brothers.

Mr. Adair is survived by two sons, Scott Austin and wife Sandra of Lancaster, South Carolina and Joey Adair and wife Tammy of Almo, Kentucky; one brother, Trigg Adair and wife Edna of Fayetteville, North Carolina; eleven grandchildren, Betsy Hughes, Renee Hughes, Kyle Austin, Ethan Austin, Tyler Austin, Mia Adair, Summer Adair, Ethan Harrell,Micaiah Adair, Autumn Robinson, and Marcus Harrell; as well as six great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Joey Adair officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the memorial service on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
