Mrs. Armel Jean Hamra, age 86, of Murray, Kentucky, died Sunday, November 19, 2017 at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House.
Mrs. Hamra was born on May 10, 1931 in Seymour, Missouri to the late Jake Claxton and Allene Duggins Claxton. Mrs. Hamra was retired from Murray State University after 27 years of serving as an assistant purchasing director for General Services. She was of the Methodist faith and a member of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Hamra is preceded in death by one daughter, Kimberly Charlene Hamra; one sister, Marjorie Litton; and one brother, William Claxton.
She is survived by one son, Skip Hamra and wife Tracy of Hamlin, Kentucky; three nieces; Leslie Hudson and husband Lex of Brentwood, Tennessee, Elizabeth Jones and husband Donald of Stuart, Florida, and JoRenne Bargiacchi and husband Steve of Germantown, Tennessee; as well as four great nephews, three great nieces, three grand nephews, and one grand niece.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
