Audrey Hendon

Mrs. Audrey Hendon, age 94, of New Concord, Kentucky, died on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House in Murray.
Mrs. Hendon was born on November 28, 1922 to the late Kelly and Mary Smith of New Concord, Kentucky.

Mrs. Hendon was a retired LPN from the former Westview Nursing Home, now Spring Creek Nursing Home, where she worked for many years. She also was employed at the Murray Calloway County Hospital. Mrs. Hendon was the oldest living member of the New Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Hendon was preceded in death by her husband Edward Hendon, whom she married on June 7, 1941 until his death in 2004; a grandson, Kevin Taylor Hendon, who died in 1986 at age 18 of cystic fibrosis; a daughter-in-law, Gail Hendon; a sister, Loraine Smith; four brothers-in-law, Thomas Crowell, Hardeman Hendon, Eugene Hendon and Dorsey Hendon; and by three sisters-in-law, Faye Farris, Sue Harrell and Blanche Pittman.

Mrs. Hendon is survived by her children, Jerry Hendon and wife Jaye of The Woodlands, Texas, Freddy Hendon of Murray, Kentucky and Patsy Tricarico and husband Stephen of Jonesboro, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Stephen Tricarico, Ed Thurman Hendon and Douglas Hendon; six great grandchildren; as well as one sister, Opal Crowell of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; and a sister-in-law, Lejenia Farris of Murray, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with John Dale and Matt Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Hicks Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
