Augusta Gussie R. Maynard

Mrs. Augusta "Gussie" R. Maynard, age 92, of Murray, Kentucky, died on Wednesday, October 02, 2019, at Parkview Nursing Home in Paducah, Kentucky.
Mrs. Maynard was born in Calloway County, Kentucky on March 17, 1927, to the late Dave Wrye and Sarah Frances (Darnell) Wrye. Gussie spent her last eleven years at Parkview Nursing and Rehab in Paducah, Kentucky. During that time, she made many friends who loved her dearly. She was always trying to lend a helping hand to others even though she herself was wheelchair bound. Her greatest joy was her family and she was so excited that she had been able to see it grow to five generations. She set a wonderful example of all of them and they will miss her dearly but are now rejoicing knowing she is in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church in Murray, Kentucky.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Rupert G. Maynard; two sisters, Tryphena Crass and Modena McClure; as well as one brother, Dallas Wrye.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Outland and husband Eddie of Carterville, Illinois; two sons, Danny Maynard and wife Donna of Draffenville, Kentucky and Jerry Maynard and wife Vicki of Murray, Kentucky; as well as six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Sunday, October 6, 2019, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Grandson John Outland officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 6, 2019, from 12:00 p.m. till 1:00 p.m., at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
