Ms. Barbara Ann Hale, 72, of Paducah, KY, died Sunday, March 27, 2011 in Benton, KY.
Ms. Hale was born in Calloway Co., KY on April 10, 1938 to the late Lennis and Obena Erwin Hale. Ms. Hale graduated from Murray Training School in 1956 and graduated from Murray State University in 1960. Ms. Hale was a retired school teacher with the Paducah School System after 30 years of service. A member of the Lone Oak United Methodist Church where she was an actively involved with the choir and many other church activities. Ms. Hale was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, the Cardinal Homemakers Club, and Alpha Delta Kappa. Ms. Hale was a volunteer at the American Quilters Museum and the American Red Cross. Ms. Hale was also an avid traveler.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Hale was preceded in death by a sister, Bonita Lynn Hale.
Ms. Hale is survived by one brother, Jerry Hale and wife Marylyn of Lexington, KY; one niece, Vicki Lynn Hale of Lexington, KY; three nephews, Rick Hale and wife Sue of Jersey City, NJ, Brian Hale and wife Stephanie of Boston, MA, and Kevin Hale and wife Jana of Seattle, WA; also surviving, one great niece, Lily Hale and one great nephew, Owen Hale both of Seattle, WA; as well as a host of dear friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Rev. Ben F. Boone officiating. Burial to follow in the South Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at the funeral home.
