Mrs. Barbara Bigham Simons, age 91, of Murray, Kentucky died on Monday, July 30, 2018 at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital.
Mrs. Simons was born in Union County, Kentucky on July 25, 1927 to the late William M. Bigham and Grace (Clement) Bigham. She retired as the co-owner of Chuck's Music Center in Murray, Kentucky. Mrs. Simons was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Murray, a member of The PEO International Philanthropic Organization, and a past member of the Murray Woman's Club. Mrs. Simons was also a charter member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority at Murray State University.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. "Chuck" Simons; daughter, Carole Ann Simons Lockhart; and two brothers, Perry Bigham and Carroll Bigham.
Survivors include one daughter, Marilyn Simons Beale of Murray, Kentucky; brother, William "Bill" M. Bigham Jr. and wife Wanda of Montgomery, Alabama; two sisters-in-laws, Helen Bigham of Atlanta, Georgia and Mildred Simons of Gainesville, Georgia; as well as two grandchildren, Katie Konrad Bailey and husband Todd of Nashville, Tennessee and Mitchell Lockhart and wife Terri of Cape Town, South Africa.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 3, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church in Murray, Kentucky. Dr. Renee Meyer will officiate.
