Barbara Myers Smotherman

Mrs. Barbara Myers Smotherman, age 87, of Murray, Kentucky, died on Monday, December 13, 2021, at her home.

Mrs. Smotherman was born on October 23, 1934, in Lynn Grove, Kentucky to the late Chester B. Myers and Lucy Murdock Myers. She was a homemaker and a member of the Williams Chapel Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister-in-law, Betty Myers; as well as one brother-in-law, Clifton Jones.

Survivors include her husband, Max Hugh Smotherman of Murray, Kentucky; they married on March 13, 1955, in Lynn Grove, Kentucky; one daughter, Gail Stubblefield and husband Kenny of Murray, Kentucky; one son, Richard Myers Smotherman and wife Sharlisa of Murray, Kentucky; one sister, Marinell Yates of Nashville, Tennessee; one brother, Jackie Myers of Mayfield, Kentucky; one sister-in-law, Anna Lou Jones of Murray, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Mark Stubblefield and wife Shelley of Murray, Kentucky, Adam Stubblefield and wife Rachel of Aiken, South Carolina, Morgan Smotherman Perry and husband Wesley of Murray, Kentucky, and Clay Smotherman and wife Marley of Murray, Kentucky; two great-grandchildren, Holden Stubblefield and Hollis Stubblefield both of Murray, Kentucky.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Chris Buford and Mickey Garrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
