Baron Palmer

Mr. Baron E. Palmer, age 86, of Kirksey, Kentucky, died Saturday, August 06, 2011 at his home
He was a retired row crop, tobacco and jersey dairy farmer; a Navy veteran of World War II serving on the USS Hector repair ship and the USS Gurke battleship destroyer. He was a member of the Kirksey United Methodist Church and a graduate of Kirksey High School.
He was born in Kirksey, Kentucky on October 31, 1924 to the late Lowell and Dixe Trevathan Palmer. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife Betty Mohler Palmer on June 3, 1994; and infant sister, Cheryl Palmer.
He is survived by his son, David L. Palmer and wife Paula of Kirksey, Kentucky, sister, Clarice Norsworthy of Kirksey, Kentucky; uncle Hugh Palmer and wife Imogene of Kirksey Kentucky; three grandchildren, Charles Palmer and wife Kelly of Kirksey, Kentucky, Michael Palmer and wife Stacie of Kirksey, Kentucky, Timothy Palmer and wife Cassidy of Kirksey, Kentucky, ten great grandchildren, Justin Palmer, Travis Palmer, Logan Palmer, Jessica Palmer, Sarah Palmer, Will Palmer, Riley Palmer, Teshome Palmer, David Lawrence, Kyle Bradley; sister-in-law, Sue Bertolet and husband Paul of Cape Haze, Florida; also survived by several nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2011 in the chapel of the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Rev. Kendrick Lewis and Rev. David Allbritten will officiate with burial following in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2011 from 5:00 – 8:00 at the funeral home.
