Betty Hornsby

April 25, 1922 — June 19, 2015

Mrs. Betty Ann Hornsby, age 93, of Murray, Kentucky died on Friday, June 19, 2015 at her home.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Murray; She was retired from Murray State University where she had worked in the Library; She was a member of the Magazine Club, Book Club, Genealogical Club, Rose and Garden Club and Homemakers.

Mrs. Hornsby was born in Lyons, New York on April 25, 1922 to the late Claude Phillip and Linette Pearl Beach Shuler. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Robert P. Hornsby; two daughters, Dianne Smith and Dawn Heiser; one son, Reed Hornsby; two brothers, Rodwell Shuler and Howard Shuler.

She is survived by three sons, Robert "Robin" Hornsby of Holly Hill, Florida, Richard "Rick" Hornsby and wife Lori of Murray, Kentucky, Raye Hornsby of Murray, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Shembra Carter, Sherida Lengyel and Ryan Hornsby; Five great grandchildren, Cayden Carter, Jaxon Carter, Aerolyn Lengyel, Amston Lengyel and Ava Hornsby.

A casual dress Celebration of life will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 25, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church in Murray, Kentucky. Rev. Renee Meyer will officiate.
