Betty Johnson

Mrs. Betty Jean Johnson, age 91, of Dyer, Tennessee, formerly of Murray, Kentucky, passed away, Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at the Dyer Nursing and Rehab in Dyer, Tennessee. 

Mrs. Johnson was born on August 30, 1932, in Carlisle County, Kentucky, to the late Henry Atlee Fortner and Eula Estell Dublin Fortner. She was a homemaker and a member of the Emmanual Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Johnson; one son, Freddy Johnson; one daughter, Kathy Jean Reyes; as well as one grandson, Gauge Johnson.

Survivors include one son, Steve Johnson of Milan, Tennessee; one brother, Thomas Fortner of Trenton, Tennessee; as well as six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and two step great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 16, 2024, at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Murray, Kentucky with Bro. Greg Wells and Bro. Alex Ayres officiating. Burial will follow in the Beech Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 16, 2024, at the Emmanuel Baptist Church.
