Mrs. Betty Jane Kingins, age 89 of Murray, Kentucky, died Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at her daughter's home in Murray, Kentucky.
Mrs. Kingins was born in Mayfield, Kentucky on June 27, 1926 to the late Chester "Buster" and Florence Iowa (Weaver) Ross. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Murray and retired as the assistant post master at Murray State University after 17 years of service.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Kingins was preceded in death by her husband, Hal K. Kingins, who died in May 2005; and one brother, James Ross.
She is survived by one daughter, Vickie L. Oliver and husband George of Murray, Kentucky; one son, Kent Kingins and wife Phyllis of Murray, Kentucky; two sisters, Myrtie Dunn of Murray, Kentucky and Ann Cash of Atlanta, Georgia; two brothers, Chester Ross and wife Sue of Calvert City, Kentukcy and Billy Ross and wife Peggy of Mayfield, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Casey Oliver Morris and husband Justin of Murray, Kentucky, Sarah Kingins Kutka and husband Brian of Barrington, Illinois, Carla Kingins Tipps and husband Jason of Tullahoma, Tennessee and Ashely Kingins Bivens and husband Josh of Drakesboro, Kentucky; as well as nine great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Murray City Cemetery with John Dale officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
