Bill Mellon

Mr. Bill Mellon, age 80, of Puryear, Tennessee, died Monday, June 19, 2017 at his home.

Mr. Mellon was born in Pennsylvania on February 27, 1937 to the Wesley Shields Mellon and Goldie Althea Droutz Mellon. Mr. Mellon was a retired barber, served in the Army Reserves, attended Lighthouse Ministries Church and was the president of the Three Rivers Coon Club.

In addition to his parents Mr. Mellon was preceded in death by his wife Frances Ann Thomas Mellon; nine siblings; and by one granddaughter, Courtney Williams.

Mr. Mellon is survived by his significant other, Barbara Lipscomb of Eddyville, Kentucky; three daughters, Marie Morgan and significant other Randy Bowery of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Pam Jones and husband Joe Pat Jones, Jr. of Almo, Kentucky and Althea Grace Ruth and significant other Robert "Barney" Barnhart of McKenzie, Tennessee; one son, William Beatty Mellon, III and wife Natasha of Puryear, Tennessee; as well as nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Collier officiating. Burial will follow in the Puryear Cemetery in Puryear, Tennessee. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
