Billy Gene Garland

Mr. Billy Gene Garland, age 87, of Murray, Kentucky, died on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at the Murray Calloway County Hospital in Murray, Kentucky.

He was born in Carrol County, Tennessee on November 15, 1933, to the late John Robert Garland and Gladys Pritchett.

Mr. Garland was a Mail Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service; he was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ where he served as an elder for over twenty years.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Norma Joyce Garland; his second wife Darlene Puckett Garland; one sister, Minnie Lou Thompson; two brothers, Bobby Garland and Johnny Garland.

Mr. Garland is survived by one daughter, Deanna Thurman and husband Mark of Jonesboro, Arkansas; three sons, Randy Garland and wife Sue of Hardin, Kentucky, Gary Garland and wife Jannette of Dexter, Kentucky, Howard Garland and wife Jennifer of Dexter, Kentucky; eleven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great great grandchild also survive.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at 1:30 p.m. in the Stewart Cemetery. Luke Puckett will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
