Mr. Bob E. Hays, 79 of Murray, Kentucky died on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at his home after an extended illness.
Mr. Hays was born in Calloway County Kentucky on December 11, 1933 to the late Porter Brown Hays and Bessie Mae (Ezell) Hays. Mr. Hays retired as a Lab Technician from Chemical Air Products in Calvert City, Kentucky after 36 years of service. He was an Army Veteran and a member of the Temple Hill United Methodist Church. Mr. Hays was also a member of the Woodman of the World, the National Rifle Association, Duck's Unlimited and the FLW Bass Club.
In addition to his parents Mr. Hays was preceded in death by a brother, Curtis Hays.
Mr. Hays is survived by his wife, Nellie Mae (Marshall) Hays of Murray, to whom he married on June 1, 1954 in Murray, Kentucky; one daughter, Donna Hays Sanders and husband James Sanders, Jr. of Murray; two sons, Marc Hays and wife Kathryn of Florida and Don Marshall Hays and wife Lisa of Murray; two sisters, Anna Redden of Richmond, Kentucky and Kitty Hays of Nevada; a sister in law, Ann Hays of Murray; as well as eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Bro. Rob Ison officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 after 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
