Bob Ragan

Mr. Bob Ragan, age 92, of Murray, Kentucky died on Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Spring Creek Health Care in Murray.
Mr. Ragan was born December 3, 1925, in Crisfield, Maryland to the late Russell Earl Ragan and Josephine Koons Ragan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maryellen Tate Ragan; infant son, Robert Russell Ragan III.
Mr. Ragan was a retired Insurance company executive, was a graduate of Wabash College, Crawfordsville, Indianan. He was an Army Veteran of WWII, and was a member of the Glendale Road Church of Christ. Mr. Ragan served on the Board of Directors Senior Citizens of Calloway County, volunteered with Meals on Wheels, was part of the senior men's golf at Sullivan's, and was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity.
Survivors include one daughter, Shelly Ragan of Murray, Kentucky; sister, Peg Hughes and husband Ken of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Shannon Parker and husband Benjie of Hazel, Kentucky, Tricia Nelson of Murray, Kentucky; one great grandchild, Ragan Nelson of Murray, Kentucky; nieces, Leslie Hughes-Lind and family of Boulder, Colorado, Marcie Ryan and family of Lincoln, Nebraska; Nephew, Dr. Kenneth Victor Hughes, IV (Dr. Tad Hughes) and family of Lexington, Kentucky; family friend, Ellen Jones.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. John Dale and Eric Kelleher will officiate, and burial will follow in the Coles Campground United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Friday, December 29, 2017 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
