Mr. Bobby Dwain Bazzell, age 77, of Farmington, Kentucky, Coldwater community, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Baptist Health in Paducah, Kentucky.

          

          Mr. Bazzell was born in Murray, Kentucky on September 6, 1946, to the late Hubert E. Bazzell and Clara (Suiter) Bazzell. Mr. Bazzell was employed as a chemist and retired from Evonik Degussa Corp. in Calvert City, Kentucky, originally Air Products.  He was a graduate of Calloway County High School, Class of 1964, Freed-Hardeman University, Class of 1966, and Murray State University, Class of 1973. Mr. Bazzell was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era and earned the rank of Spec 5. He was a member of the VFW, Post #6291. He was a collector of vintage sports cards and an avid sports fan. He enjoyed gardening and was a true conservationist.

 

          In addition to his parents, Mr. Bazzell was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Dwayne Hale.

 

          Mr. Bazzell is survived by his wife, Peggy (Colson) Bazzell, whom he married on December 23, 1966, at the Coldwater Church of Christ; one son, Scott L. Bazzell and wife Rebeca of Tyler, Texas; two sisters, Janice Hale of Farmington, Kentucky, and Shirley Burgess and husband Steve of Kirksey, Kentucky; brother-in-law, Hugh R. Colson and wife Rebecca of Evansville, Indiana; as well as two granddaughters, Liliana Grace Bazzell and Sarah Elise Bazzell both of Tyler, Texas. 

 

          A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services. John Dale and Luke Puckett will officiate, and burial will follow in the Coldwater Church of Christ Cemetery with full military honors, provided by VFW, Post #6291. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
