Bro. Bobby Joe Edmonson, 68, of Murray, Kentucky died on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Western Baptist Hospital.
Bro. Edmonson was born in Central City, Kentucky on September 27, 1943 to the late Hollon Edmonson and Mary Josephine Simmons Edmonson. Bro. Edmonson retired as the owner and operator of Bobby's Auto Body Shop; he served as the present minister of Old Paths Missionary Baptist Church and had served as a pastor to several churches in the surrounding area; he also conducted Bible studies at Spring Creek Health Care.
In addition to his parents Bro. Edmonson was preceded in death by four brothers, twin brother Robert Edmonson, Kenneth Edmonson, Wilson Edmonson, and Linn Edmonson; and two sisters, Becky Burden and Mary Alice Eaves.
Bro. Edmonson is survived by his wife, Martha Sue Kimbro Edmonson of Murray, to whom he married on September 25, 1967 in Murray, Kentucky; two daughters, Susan Coleman and husband Johnny of Dexter, Kentucky and Christie Fryer and husband Jimmy of Almo, Kentucky; two sisters, Betty Smith and husband Paxton of Eddyville, Kentucky and Gracie Choate and husband George of Cadiz, Kentucky; four brothers, Philip Edmonson and wife Patsy, David Edmonson, Douglas Edmonson and wife Dorthy, Paul Edmonson and wife Phylis all of Cadiz, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Candace Adams and husband John, Tiffany Coleman, Joshua Darnell and Jacob Darnell; one great grandchild, Bryson Adams; as well as several nieces and nephews survive.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Sammy Cunningham, Bro. Max Anderson and Bro. Jack Henshaw officiating. Burial to follow in the Barnett Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
