Brenda Joyce Newberry

         Mrs. Brenda Joyce Newberry, age 82, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital.

          Mrs. Newberry was born on December 6, 1940, in Murray, Kentucky to the late Alvin Floyd Elkins and Audra (Davenport) Elkins. She retired after 34 years as a Dental Assistant. Mrs. Newberry was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Harmony Sunday School Class.

          In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Don R. Newberry; one sister, Jean Barnett; as well as one brother, Edwin Elkins.

          Survivors include two nephews, Ron Barnett and Randy Barnett both of Murray, Kentucky; three great nieces, Lindsey Crane and husband Tripp of Murray, Kentucky, Katie Barnett of New Hampshire, and Georgia Barnett of Murray, Kentucky; as well as two great great nephews and two great great nieces.

          A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 1, 2023, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Bro. Boyd Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., November 30, 2023, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
