Bro. Robert McKinney

Bro. Robert McKinney, age 81, of Dexter, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Baptist Health in Paducah, Kentucky.

          Bro. McKinney was born on November 19, 1942, to the late Robert Deward McKinney and Estell Donelson McKinney. He was a retired farmer and was the former pastor of Oakton, Columbus, Berkley, and Shiloh United Methodist Churches in Hickman County, Kentucky; Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Marshall County, Kentucky; Bandana and Oscar United Methodist Churches in Ballard County, Kentucky; Palestine United Methodist Church in Calloway County, Kentucky; and was the current minister for Bethel Church and Brooks Chapel Community Church in Calloway County, Kentucky. 

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and six sisters, and a daughter in law, Gena McKinney.

          Survivors include his wife, Sue Winchester McKinney of Dexter, Kentucky; one daughter, Karen Suzanne Coles and husband Daryl of Hazel, Kentucky; two sons, Bobby Wayne McKinney of Dexter, Kentucky and Timothy Douglas McKinney of Harrodsburg, Kentucky; as well as six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

          A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Richard Burkeen officiating. Burial will follow in the Brooks Chapel-Gordon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
