Buddy Anderson

Mr. Ollis Edward "Buddy" Anderson, age 75, of Murray, Kentucky died Friday, January 10, 2014 at his home after an extended illness.

He was a member of the Union Grove Church of Christ; he was a former partner of Coles Construction; he was retired from Ellis Popcorn; he was 1957 graduate of the Kirksey High School; he was an avid wood worker/carpenter.

He was born in Murray, Kentucky January 25, 1938 to the late Ollis Lee and Laverne Steele Anderson. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wilson and Bertha Hughes.

Buddy is survived by his wife, Glenda Hughes Anderson; they were married June 20, 1959 in Murray, Kentucky; one daughter, Susan Anderson Knott of Murray, Kentucky; two sons, Tim Anderson and friend Kim Chandler of Almo, Kentucky, Rob Anderson and wife Christy of Carlisle County, Kentucky; one sister, Brenda Jones of Murray, Kentucky; one brother, Jimmy Anderson and wife Carolyn of Murray, Kentucky; one brother-in-law, Dale Hughes and wife Vickie of Murray, Kentucky; seven grandchildren, Whitney Anderson Gordon and husband Gregg, Jesse Anderson, Reese Anderson, Anderson Knott, Justin Barnett Nicole Darnall Hill and husband Justin and Blake Darnall; two great grandchildren along with several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, January 15, 2014 in the chapel of the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. John Dale will officiate with burial to follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 pm Tuesday, January 14, 2013 at the funeral home.
