Mr. Carlee Saylors of Murray, Kentucky died September 10, 2018 at the age of 85 at his home. Mr. Saylors was born in Jasper, Tennessee on September 30, 1932. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church. He served honorably in the U.S Army during the end of the Korean War. He was a long-time brother of the Mason's Lodge. Mr. Saylors enjoyed being with family, his pets (Smokey, Lucky, and Lily) sports, fishing, and gardening. In high school he participated in football, basketball, and boxing; where he became a Golden Glove winner. He later in life stayed involved in sports by playing and officiating in local athletic events. One of the events he participated in, fishing, he received several awards from local tournaments and was past President of Bass Masters. He retired from T.V.A and began driving for the Murray City School system where he also retired years later.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lemey and Irene Saylors; three brothers, Leavon Author Saylors, Harlan Saylors and Eddie Saylors; as well as two daughters, Karen L. Lamb and Julia A. Saylors.
He is survived by his grandchildren, Tanisha Forrest and (Mike Navan) and Taylor Lamb of Murray Kentucky, Travis Lamb and (Emily Watson) of Jonesborough, Tennessee; one sister Susie Billingsley and husband Dwight of Faith, North Carolina; his first wife and caregiver, Patricia Saylors of Murray, Kentucky and second wife, Wanda Saylors of Murray, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Bro. Sammy Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. His pallbearers will be Travis Lamb, Tanisha Forrest, Michael Navan, Taylor Lamb, Kevin Lamb, Dwight Billingsley and John Shelley.
