Carlos Elkins

Mr. Carlos Elkins, age 90, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House in Murray, Kentucky.

          Mr. Elkins was born on March 21, 1933, in Murray, Kentucky to the late Thomas J. “Jack” Elkins and Otie (Morgan) Elkins. He retired as an inspector for Briggs and Stratton, having been the oldest person to retire there at age 77. Mr. Elkins was a member of the Russell’s Chapel Methodist Church. He loved to watch the beauty of wildlife and would drive in a 5 mile radius of his home, “The Circle”, every day.

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Lona Mae Williams; as well as one brother, Lestel Elkins.

          Survivors include his wife, Linda (Jones) Elkins of Murray, Kentucky; one daughter, Carla Elkins of Murray, Kentucky; one son, Tommy Elkins and wife Trudy of Murray, Kentucky; one brother, Otis Elkins and wife Bobbi Sue of Murray, Kentucky; six grandchildren, LeAnn Darnell, Luke Rickman and wife Dolly, Elli Elkins and fiancé Greg Hill, Natalie Thorn and husband Matt, Brandon Lawrence and wife Lindsey, and Shane Elkins and wife KoryBeth; as well as nine great grandchildren, Jordan Rickman, Parker Rickman, Atlanta Elkins, Simon Rickman, Eli Whitaker, Brooklyn Thorn, Avery Lawrence, Margot Lawrence, and Banks Thorn.

          A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 11, 2023, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Eric Kelleher and Pastor Art Heinz officiating. Burial will follow in the Hale Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 11, 2023, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
