Mrs. Carmaleta Eldridge, age 71, of Murray, Ky., died on May 28, 2011 at the Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN.
Mrs. Eldridge was a retired Banking Manager and a member of Martin’s Chapel United Methodist Church, where she sang and played in the church choir. She was a member of the Hazel Woman’s club, Martin’s Chapel U.M.W., Red Hat Society, and Officers Wives’ Club. Born May 18, 1940 in Murray, Ky.
Carmaleta loved her family, her friends, and her church. She enjoyed Cooking, Reading, Gardening, and the Outdoors.
She is survived by her husband Thomas Junior Eldridge, Ret.CW04-U.S.C.G. of Murray, Ky. As well as three daughters; Dawn Olsen (Duayne) of Murray, Ky., Lori Lyon (John) of Oxford, Me, and Michele Maxson of Irmo, S.C. , one brother, Michael Homer Charlton, of Owensboro, KY, six grandchildren, Noelle Olsen, Connor Olsen , both of Murray, Ky., Amanda Lyon of Stuart, FL., John Lyon of Oxford, Me, Isabelle Maxson of Irmo, S.C., and Thomas Maxson of Irmo, S.C. and three great-grandchildren, Camren, Emma, Owen Stevenson, all of Stuart, FL.
She is preceded in death by her Father, Homer Elisha Charlton, and her Mother Katie Winfred Adams Charlton, and Sister Janie Story.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home, Rev. Eugene Burkeen will officiate, and burial will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 31, from 5-9p.m. at the funeral home.
