Mrs. Carmen Jo Lovett, age 84, of Murray, Kentucky, died on, Sunday, June 28, 2020, at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House in Murray, Kentucky.
Mrs. Lovett was born on April 7, 1936, in Guntown, Mississippi to the late Clarence Issac Horton and Carmen Jones Horton. Mrs. Lovett worked for 30 years as director of pre-student teaching at Murray State University and was a lifelong active member of the Goshen United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Purdom M. Lovett; sister, Frances Adams; as well as three brothers, J.W. Horton, Clarence Horton, and Charles Wayne Horton.
Survivors include one daughter, Carma Lisa Boren and husband Larry of Saltillo, Mississippi; two sons, David Wayne Lovett and wife Lin of Murray, Kentucky and Michael Rae Lovett and wife Patricia of Owensboro, Kentucky; one sister, Effie Kemp of Murray, Kentucky; one brother, Nick Horton and wife Frankie of Murray, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Andy Boren and wife Ashley M., Elliot Lovett and wife Taylor, Ashley Jo Boren and fiancé Josh Lindsey, Curt Thurman, Skylar Lovett, and Sydney Lovett; as well as two great-grandchildren, Freya Delaney Lovett and Willa Drew Boren.
Honorary pallbearers are; Andy Boren, Elliott Lovett, Skylar Lovett, Hal Kemp, Curt Thurman, Tony Horton, Nick Allen Horton, Wayne Horton, and Nicky Jo Horton.
Private family services were held on Monday, June 29, 2020, at Coles Campground United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. April Arnold officiating.
