Carolyn Craig

Mrs. Carolyn S. Craig, age 86, of Murray, Kentucky, died Friday, September 25, 2015 at Spring Creek Health Care in Murray, Kentucky.

Mrs. Craig was born on December 29, 1928 in Takoma Park, Maryland to the late William Russell Sheets and Margaret Elliot Sheets. She was a retired junior high school home economics teacher, from North Chicago, Illinois, and a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Togetherness Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority in Murray, KY, and the Illinois Teachers Retirement System. She received the Daughters of American Revolution Good Citizenship Pilgrimage Award.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by one sister, Jean Gordy and one brother, William M. Sheets.

She is survived by her husband, Everett L. Craig, to whom she was married on December 22, 1951 in Zion, Illinois, one son, James R. Craig and wife Janet of Glen Carbon, Illinois, one sister in law, Donna Sheets of Winchester, Virginia, three nieces, Ruthie Lee of Edgewater, Maryland, Jeannie Labbee of Daphne, Alabama, and Debbie Willis of Burtonsville, Maryland, as well as two grandchildren, Ellen G. Vogel and husband Luke, of St. Louis, Missouri and Dianna L. Craig of Glen Carbon, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church, Dr. Rick Dye and Rev. Jim Stahler will officiate. Burial will be in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2015 from 5-8 p.m., at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held Wednesday, from 10 a.m. till the Funeral hour at the church.
