Cathy Lynn Garland

Mrs. Cathy Lynn Garland, 51, of Murray, KY died at her residence, Saturday, September 11, 2010, due to an extended illness. Mrs. Garland was born in Caldwell Co., KY on October 20, 1958. Mrs. Garland in 1983 received her AA degree in Computer Data Processing and a BS degree in Business Education, with a minor in history, at Murray State University.
Mrs. Garland while living in Lexington, KY served as the Secretary to the President of Transylvania University, and also had been employed at Vanderbilt University and with Murray State University.
Mrs. Garland is preceded in death by her father, Paul Wayne Ladd and her mother in law, Beverly Garland.
She is survived by her, husband, Gregg Garland, which were married in Mayfield, KY on November 24, 1984 ; daughter, Katie Garland; and son, Jordan Garland all of Murray; mother, Shirley Ladd; brother, Ricky Ladd and wife Alecia; two nephews, Wesley and Zachary Ladd all of Mayfield, KY. Mrs. Garland is also survived by her father in Law, Marshall Garland of Murray.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 17, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Baptist Church in Murray with Bro. Ray Provow and Rev. Kerry Lambert officiating. Burial to follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening, September 16, 2010 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home, and Friday, September 17, 2010 from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. , also at the funeral home.
