Mr. Cedric Darrian Shawnkise Cherry, age 32, of Murray, Kentucky passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026.
Mr. Cherry was born on July 15, 1993, in Murray, Kentucky. He worked at Champion Home Builders, Inc. in Benton, Kentucky and was a member of the St. Johns Missionary Baptist Church in Murray, Kentucky. As he was a Child of God.
He was a proud graduate of Murray High School, Class of 2011. He loved poker and sports, especially football as it held a special place in his heart. The New Orleans Saints were his favorite team. He was a very genuine, loveable, kindhearted soul that never knew a stranger. He would give his shirt off his back for anyone in need. His big smile brightened every room he walked into. He was always laughing and dancing everywhere he went. There was never a dull moment whenever he was near. He was loved by everyone, and he loved them as well.
He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Johnny Blanton, Sr. (“Poppo”) and Francine Blanton, (“Granny”), as well as his son, Isaiah Cherry.
Survivors include his loving wife, Megan (Ainscough) Cherry; they married on July 25, 2024, in Murray, Kentucky; two beautiful daughters, Amyiah Grace Ainscough and Kapri Symone Cherry both of Murray, Kentucky; father, Cedric Cherry of Cincinnati, Ohio; mother, Franshawn (Blanton) Strickland of Murray, Kentucky; two sisters, Aaliscia Strickland of Murray, Kentucky and Jessica Cavtt of Texas; as well as one brother, Ra’Vichael Strickland of Murray, Kentucky. He also left behind a second family, mother-in-law Tamara Ainscough; two sisters-in-law, Jennifer Misher and Kayla Clymer; one brother-in-law, Austin Ainscough; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donation to The J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 201 South Third Street, Murray, Kentucky 42071 to help with final expenses in memory of Mr. Cedric Cherry.
