Mr. Charles Adolph Jones, age 81, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, surrounded by family, at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House in Murray.
Mr. Jones was born in East Prairie, Missouri on June 28, 1943, to the late Joseph Edward Jones and Sadie Lucille (Howton) Jones. He lived and worked in California for several years before returning to his hometown. Mr. Jones retired from French Implement as a John Deere mechanic in the East Prairie/Charleston, Missouri area. He and his wife have resided in Murray, Kentucky, for more than ten years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in East Prairie, Missouri.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by three sisters, Linda Gene Jones, Barabra Ann Jones, and Peggy June Summers Fall; and by two brothers, James Edward Jones and Frankie Roe Jones.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Glenda (Byassee) Jones of Murray, Kentucky, to whom he was married for sixty years, having married on September 5, 1964; two sons, Ronnie Jones and wife Chanda, and Chuck Jones and wife Sarah, both of Murray, Kentucky; one brother, Robert Joseph “Bob” Jones and wife Ruby of East Prairie, Missouri; four grandchildren, Ryan Jones and wife Lindsey of Salemburg, North Carolina, Abby Jones Beane and husband Austin of Mayfield, Kentucky, Chaney Curd and fiancé Andrew Horne of Lexington, Kentucky, and Jack Jones of Oxford, Mississippi; as well as six great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 205 Pearl Street, East Prairie, Missouri 63845.
