Mr. Charles Eugene Cathey, age 57, of Hazel, Kentucky, passed away, Thursday, November 7, 2024, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, Kentucky.

 

Mr. Cathey was born on November 21, 1966, in Murray, Kentucky to the late John Blane Cathey and Janice Cook Newton. He was a member of the Kirksey Baptist Church, an avid hunter, and a 1984 graduate of Calloway County High School.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Timmy Cathey; as well as one son-in-law, Justin Reeves.

 

Survivors include one daughter, Sarah Cathey Reeves of Tampa, Florida; two sons, Zachary Allen Cathey (Shirley) of Ocala, Florida and Ryker Blane Cathey (Priscilla) of Paris, Tennessee; stepfather, Walter Newton of Murray, Kentucky; two sisters, Lydia Cathey of Murray, Kentucky and Amanda Cathey (Duke) of Almo, Kentucky; one brother, John Cathey (Paula) of Lexington, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Madelyn Cathey, Henley Cathey Reeves, and Henry Cathey Reeves; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Servies.
