Mr. Charles Lewis Houston, age 85, of Kirksey, Kentucky, passed on Monday, October 18, 2021, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, Kentucky and is now safely home with Jesus Christ.
Mr. Houston was born on July 13, 1936, in Parsons, Tennessee to the late Olen Ray Houston and Lura Mae (Rhodes) Houston. For 43 years he worked as product quality engineer at Caterpillar Tractor Co. in Joliet, Illinois. He was a member of the Walnut Street Baptist Church in Benton, Kentucky and was an Air Force Veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice DeLay Houston; as well as one sister and three brothers.
Survivors include two sons, Chuck Houston and wife Lisa of Kirksey, Kentucky and Brent Houston and wife Jill of Kirksey, Kentucky; two sisters, Johnnye Baldwin of Parsons, Tennessee and Martha Kay Siebert of Parsons, Tennessee; as well as one brother, Vance Aaron Houston of Wapakoneta, Ohio. Loved grandchildren include C.J. and Sam Houston, with a special part of the family, Capree Burris.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral service at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Jim Woolridge, Chuck Houston, and Brent Houston officiating. Pallbearers include Jeff Pearcy, Keith Conder, Sam Houston, Jerry Goheen, Randy Schulte, Curtis Allen, Bruce Bowlin, and Kevin Royalty. Burial will follow in the Elm Grove Cemetery.
