Mr. Charles Thomas McDaniel, 84, Murray, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital.
Mr. McDaniel was born March 31, 1926, in Marshall County, Ky., to the late Ennis Clayton and Chester McDaniel. A World War II Army veteran, he was retired from Martin Marietta in Paducah after 35 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. McDaniel was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Spicer, and two brothers, James C. McDaniel and I. W. Barnett.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Hopkins McDaniel of Murray, to whom he was married Aug. 3, 1946; a son, Michael McDaniel of Atlanta; two daughters, Cindy McDaniel and Lisa Yates, both of Murray; three grandchildren, Matt Harris of Chicago, Raegan Blankenship of Murray and Erin McClure of Clarksville, Tenn.; and two great-granddaughters, Alexis Blankenship of Murray and Elly McClure of Clarksville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, in the chapel of the J. H. Churchill Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Lowe and Dr. Durwood Beatty officiating. Burial will follow in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, at the funeral home.
