Charles Allen Newsom

Mr. Charles Allen Newsom, Sr., 81, of Murray, died, Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 11:56 p.m. at the Murray Calloway Co. Hospital. Mr. Newsom was born in Henderson, Mississippi on November 30, 1929 to the late William Allen Newsom and Govie Harrison Vickery Newsom. Mr. Newsom retired from the United States Army and a retired ROTC Instructor from the Memphis City School System. Mr. Newsom was of Baptist Faith.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Newsom was preceded in death by one daughter, Cheryl Newsom and one sister, Billie Jean Newsom.
Mr. Newsom is survived by one daughter, Christine Newsom of Murray, KY; one son, Charles Allen Newsom, Jr. and wife Evelyn of New Albany, Mississippi; one sister, Charlene Kingsley and husband Dan of Bernard, Iowa; two brothers, Bobby Newsom of Lufkin, TX and John Newsom and wife Patricia of Memphis, TN; as well as four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
There is no visitation or services scheduled at this time.
The J.H. Churchill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
