Mr. Charles M. Overcast, age 80, of Hazel, Kentucky died on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Benchmark Healthcare in Puryear, Tennessee.
Mr. Overcast was born on December 25, 1935 to the late Robert Lee Overcast and Mary Ruth Wilson Overcast. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Hazel Baptist Church. He was an Airman 1st Class Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Overcast was preceded in death by three brothers, John Overcast, Joe Hal Overcast and Sam Overcast; and by one sister, Billie Russell.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta King Overcast of Hazel, Kentucky, to whom he married on April 10, 1955 in Sumtner, South Carolina; two daughters, Brenda Sykes and husband Shea of Murray, Kentucky and Trena Woods and husband Blaine of Nashville, Tennessee; one son, Randy Overcast and wife Rita of Murray, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Josh Sykes and wife Abby of Hazel, Kentucky, Kelsey Sykes of Richmond, Virginia and Ryan Tuck and Alex Cothron both of Nashville, Tennessee; as well as one great grandchild, Nola Sykes of Hazel, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 27, 2016 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
