Christine "Rube" Downs

Mrs. Christine “Rube” Downs, 81, of Murray, Ky., died Monday, October 25, 2010 at 1:40 p.m. at the Murray Calloway County Hospital.
She was a homemaker and member of the Hill Top Baptist Church, born April 11, 1929 in Trigg Co., Ky.
Survivors include her husband, Howard Downs of Murray, Ky., they married May 14, 1955 in Corinth, Ms., daughter, Shelia Dix (Phillip) of Dexter, Ky., son, Bobby Hale (Martha) of Murray, Ky., two sisters, Jean Fox and Mary Elizabeth “Megue” Futrell both of Murray, Ky., three grandchildren, Chris Hale (Annett) of Murray, Ky., Stephanie Love (David) of Murray, Ky., Dustin Dix (Susan) of Hazel, Ky., two great grandchildren, Sylvia and Daniel Hale both of Murray, Ky. also several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Drucilla Hargrove Garland, son, Michael Hale, also 4 sisters, and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home, Rev. Joe Pat Winchester will officiate and burial will be in the Williams-Billington cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 27, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
