Christine Pogue

Mrs. Christine Brown Pogue, 95, of Murray, KY, died Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at her place of residence. Mrs. Pogue was born in Fulton, KY on June 27, 1914 to the late Arthur Lawrence Brown and Carrie Donoko Brown. Mrs. Pogue a retired art instructor and librarian. She taught in Murray, as well as Lexington, KY and in Washington, D.C. While in Washington she also worked for the Pentagon as librarian. Mrs. Pogue was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Murray and was a member of the magazine club.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Forest Pogue, who died October 6, 1993, an infant sister and infant brother, as well as a deceased brother Lawrence Donoko Brown.
Surviving, one sister in law, Mrs. Mary Frances Stevens of Richmond, KY.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church in Murray with Rev. David and Ann Marie Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in the Frances Cemetery in Frances, KY. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until funeral hour on Thursday also at the church.
