Mrs. Claire M. Resig, age 86, of Murray, Kentucky, died, Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at her home.
She retired from Murray State University as secretary for the Foreign Language Department; she was a member of the St. Leo's Catholic Church; she was a member of the Murray Woman's Club
She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on February 10, 1925 to the late Harry J and Harriett Butler Fenton; in addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by one daughter, Elizabeth Anna Resig; and one brother, Harry Fenton Jr.
She is survived by her husband, John V. Resig of Murray, Kentucky, in whom she was married on September 1, 1948 in Murray Kentucky; one daughter, Theresa Logan and husband Edwin of Frankfort, Kentucky; three sons, Thomas Resig and wife Jennifer of Nashville, Tennessee, Joseph Resig and wife Barbara of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Philip Resig and wife Jo Anne of Mason Ohio; two sisters, Mary Long of Chicago, Illinois, Anne Seyer of St Louis, Missouri, two brothers, Thomas Fenton of Lake Tahoe, California, Edmond Fenton of Lexington, Kentucky; fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am at the St Leo's Catholic Church, Monday, November 28, 2011. Father Jason McClure will officiate and burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 9:00 Sunday, November 27, 2011 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home
