Cliff Tinsley (89) of Murray, Kentucky (formerly of Godfrey, Illinois) passed away on Monday, April 6 at Murray Calloway Hospital. He was born on November 29, 1925.
Cliff was loved by everyone who knew him. He was a thoughtful, kind man with a big heart and a big smile. After retiring as an elementary school principal in the Alton, IL school district, he spent his retirement years enjoying life and seizing the day. He was an avid fisherman and a life-long St. Louis Cardinal fan. He will be missed by so many family and friends.
Cliff was preceded in death by his wife Betty and son Bruce.
He is survived by his loving wife Penny Tinsley (Murray); daughter Terri (Stan) Patterson (Springfield, IL), and step-children Michael (Caroline) Cappock and Megan Williams (Paducah), and Mark (Heather) Cappock (Panama City, FL). Cliff is also survived by his grandson Kevin (Audra) Foutch (Manchester, MO); step-grandchildren Penrod, Chris, and Grace Cappock of Paducah; Sarah and Sophie Williams, also of Paducah; and John, Sean, and William Cappock of Panama City, FL. Also left to cherish his memory are two special nephews, Greg and Carl Tinsley.
A celebration of Cliff's life will be held in May.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Hospital or Murray Humane Society.
