Colleen Moore, 82 years young, of Murray, Ky., passed away Saturday, August 7, 2010 following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
Ms. Moore was an active member of the Glendale Road Church of Christ. Upon retiring from Bell South after 34 years, Ms. Moore lived a full life and remained committed to the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was very involved in her community, was a member of the senior friends in Mayfield, Ky., and was a Prime Life Member of the Murray Calloway Co. Hospital. She enjoyed hanging out with her friends, attended ball games, political events and exercise class, and could always be spotted frequently at the local Dairy Queen. As a breast cancer survivor Ms. Moore faithfully participated in Murray Calloway County’s Relay for Life event. Colleen Moore was deeply loved by all who knew her, and she will be sorely missed.
Ms. Moore is survived by one brother, Bobby G. Moore of Paducah, Ky., two nieces, Jean E. Embry and Kathy Hayes both of Paducah, Ky., nephew Michael Moore also of Paducah, Ky., also three great nieces and two great nephews survive.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert C. and Maude M. Tucker Moore.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home, John Dale and Jason Hart will officiate, and burial will be in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 10, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
