Connie 'Coco" Norsworthy

Mrs. Connie “Coco” Norsworthy, age 83, of Kirksey, Kentucky, passed away, Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at the Fulton Nursing & Rehabilitation in Fulton, Kentucky.

Coco was born on February 15, 1941, in Dearborn, Michigan. She was predeceased by her parents Mr. and Mrs. James Clark, of Dearborn, Michigan and a daughter, Lee-Clark Robbins of Kirksey, Kentucky. She is survived by her husband Robert Norsworthy, son-in-law Jay Robbins, three grandsons, Wyatt, Colt, and Ryder Robbins, all of Kirksey, Kentucky; a brother, Dr. Jamie Clark of Birmingham, Michigan; a niece, Courtney Clark, of Orange County, California; and numerous cousins from Dearborn, Michigan.

In 1952, when Coco was 10 years old, her grandfather took her to Keeneland in Lexington, Kentucky, and bought her a horse named Sharp Note. The horse later won the Hambletonian, a stake in the Triple Crown of Harness Racing for Trotters.

Coco was a graduate of the Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Michigan. While there, she was a member of the Eta Chapter of the Chi Omega Sorority. As a career professional she worked in notable design firms in San Francisco, Detroit, and Cincinnati. She also taught art in elementary schools in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, and Cincinnati, Ohio.

An enthusiastic travel companion, Coco visited Egypt, China, and Russia. She was adventurous and curious about other cultures and places.

While living in Greenwich, Connecticut, Coco served as a member of The Junior League. She was also a member of the Hortilus Garden Club where she won numerous prizes and ribbons for her flower and plant arrangements. Once moving to Calloway County, she was also a member of the Murray Woman’s Club and the Goshen United Methodist Church, in Stella.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to her daughter’s Internship Scholarship Fund at Murray State University, c/o Lee Norsworthy-Robbins Internship Fellowship, Murray State University, Office of Development, 200 Heritage Hall, Murray, Ky, 42071. 

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. April Arnold officiating. There will be no public visitation held prior to the celebration of life.
