Conrad H. Jones

October 30, 1922 — March 15, 2019

Dr. Conrad H. Jones, age 96, of Murray, Kentucky, died on March 15, 2019 at the Murray Calloway County Hospital.

Conrad was born in Lynn Grove on October 30, 1922 to the late Cody Harrison Jones, M.D. and Annie Underwood Jones. He received his bachelor's degree from Murray State University and received his medical degree from University of Louisville. Conrad served as a medical doctor in the U.S. Army during World War II. He returned to Murray in 1949 and joined the Houston McDevitt Clinic. For years, he served the Murray community and his beloved patients, delivering over 10,000 babies in a career that extended over 60 years of practice. Conrad was one of those fortunate people who loved his work and enjoyed bringing each child he delivered into the world. Conrad cherished working with many doctors over the years, especially his dear friend and partner, Dr. Gene Cook with whom he started the Murray Woman's Clinic in 1978. Conrad dedicated himself to his career and could always be found in his library studying the most recent medical journals to be able to keep pace with the technology which was changing around him. Conrad was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church and was always supportive of the youth programs. He received one of his greatest honors when the Murray Calloway County Hospital established the Dr. Conrad Jones Women's Pavilion.

In addition to his parents, Conrad was preceded in death by his loving and caring wife, Evelyn Louise Lockhart Jones to whom he was married for almost 70 years and his wonderful daughter, Janeth Louise Wilson.

He is remembered with love by his daughter, Nancy Jones Haverstock and husband, Gary of Murray; six grandchildren, Richard Wilson, and wife, Amanda of Russellville, Kentucky; Brad Wilson, and wife Kelly, of Murray, Kentucky; Haley Eakin, and husband Rob, of Nashville, Tennessee; Kaylin Weber, and husband, Chris of Houston, Texas; Sean Haverstock, and wife, Kim of Louisville, Kentucky; and Ryan Haverstock, and wife, Amberly of Murray, Kentucky; as well as 10 great-grandchildren, Eliza Wilson, Carter Wilson, Chandler Wilson, Caroline Weber, Charlotte Weber, Nick Kokoski, Lane Haverstock, Camden Haverstock, Caroline Larkins and Audrey Walker. Conrad was a loving, caring husband and father who enjoyed each of the special moments with his grandchildren and their families.
