Dan Steven Harrell

Mr. Dan Steven Harrell, age 73, of Murray, Kentucky died on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at his home after an extended illness.
Mr. Harrell retired after 27 year as an instructor at the Murray Vocational School, were he taught Auto Body Collision Repair and Welding; he was a Veteran of the U.S. Army; and was a member of the Eastwood Baptist Church.
He was born in the Golden Pond community of Trigg County, Kentucky on September 13, 1940 to the late Alvin Hollis and Myra Bell Atwood Harrell. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by two sisters, Fran Khols and Betty Poythress; two brothers, Jamie Harrell and Everette Harrell.
Mr. Harrell is survived by his wife Barbara Irene Ray Harrell of Murray, Kentucky; they were married June 24, 1961 at the Goshen United Methodist Church in the Stella Community outside Murray, Kentucky. Also survived by three sons, W. "Doug" Harrell, Barry Dale Harrell and wife April, and Joshuah Daniel Harrell all of Murray, Kentucky; four brothers, Edgar Harrell and wife Ola of Clarksville, Tennessee, Bob Harrell and wife Nancy of Henderson, Kentucky, Philip Harrell and wife Georgia, Bill Harrell and wife Norma both of Murray, Kentucky; eight grandchildren, Elisabeth Bryan and husband Jacob, Autumn Brook Harrell, Jordan Harrell, Marcus Harrell, Ethan Harrell, Alexis Harrell, Ben Harrell and Andrew Harrell; two great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm Monday, August 4, 2014 at the Eastwood Baptist Church. Pastor Andy Harrell will officiate with burial to follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 3, 2014 for 2:00p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Monday, August 4, 2014 from 10:30 a.m. – funeral hour at the Eastwood Baptist Church.
