Mr. Dan Poyner

Mr. Dan Poyner, age 89, of Hazel, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, Kentucky.

Mr. Poyner was born on January 12, 1937, in Murray, Kentucky to the late Buren Poyner and Nina Hughes Poyner. He retired as a residential building contractor, carpenter, and farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Lutricia Hale Poyner of Hazel, Kentucky; two sons, Jon Poyner of Bowling Green, Kentucky and Ashley Poyner and wife Marla of Murray, Kentucky; one sister, Ella Van Tidwell of Morganton, Georgia; three grandchildren, Colin Poyner of Murray, Kentucky, Keaton Poyner of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Maggie Poyner of Bowling Green, Kentucky; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Private burial services will be held with Bro. Ricky Cunningham and Rev. Jim Stahler officiating.
