Dana (Harrison) Bazzell

Mrs. Dana (Harrison) Bazzell, age 70, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away, Friday, February 7, 2025, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, Kentucky. 

Mrs. Bazzell was born on April 21, 1954, in Graves County, Kentucky. She was a 1971 graduate of Farmington High School and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1975 from Murray State University. Mrs. Bazzell worked in the Labor and Delivery Department at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital for over 44 years, ultimately serving as Director of Perinatal Services. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Murray and was a Kentucky Colonel.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Reece Harrison; one brother, Dean Harrison; as well as one niece, Mallory Harrison. 

Survivors include her husband, Richard “Dickie” Dale Bazzell of Murray, Kentucky; they married on November 19, 1971, in Calloway County, Kentucky; one daughter, Keri (Bazzell) Verastegui and husband Emmanuel of Louisville, Kentucky; one son, Chad Bazzell of Bowling Green, Kentucky; mother, Virginia (Doran) Harrison of Farmington, Kentucky; one sister, Julie Moquin and husband Bill of Madison, Alabama; two brothers, Dale Harrison and Doran Harrison and wife Judy all of Farmington, Kentucky; as well as three nephews, Lucas Harrison, Tyler Finley, and Tanner Finley.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 17, 2025, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Kerry Lambert officiating. Bro. Ricky Cunningham and Rev. Jim Stahler will assist with the service. Burial will follow in the Farmington Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
