Daniel Cortez

Mr. Daniel Escobedo Cortez, age 64, of Almo, Kentucky died on Friday, October 28, 2016 at his home after an extended illness.

Mr. Cortez was born in Firebaugh, California on May 31, 1952. He was a roofer and mechanic. He was a member of the Trinity Christian Center.

Mr. Cortez was preceded in death by his mother, Amelia Escobedo Cortez; and by one brother, Paul Cortez.

Mr. Cortez is survived by his wife Linda (Wann) Cortez of Almo, Kentucky, to whom he married on October 8, 1978; his father, Pedro Cortez of Madera, California; one daughter, Jennifer (Wann) Speakes and husband Rusty of Firebaugh, California; two sons, Brandon Daniel Cortez and wife Toni of Almo, Kentucky and Brian Nicholas Cortez and wife Tracy of Murray, Kentucky; two sisters, Anita McGuire of Madera, California and Patti Lyons of Fresno, California; two brothers, Robert Cortez of Arizona and Ernesto Cortez of Madera, California; eleven grandchildren, Keygun, Kayden, Robert, Adam, Amanda, Jacob, Sabrina, Nicholas, R.J., Monica and Jared; as well as two great grandchildren, Landyn and Samuel.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Coles Campground Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
