David Lee Wrye

Mr. David Lee Wrye, age 68, of Murray, Kentucky, died on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, Kentucky.

Mr. Wrye was born on September 13, 1953, in Murray, Kentucky to the late Dallas Evan Wrye and Gertrude Mae (Rye) Wrye. He retired as a jack of all trades and was a member of the Poplar Spring Baptist Church. In addition, Mr. Wrye was apart of the Danny Phillips Sunday School Class.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Kay (Adams) Wrye of Murray, Kentucky; they married on September 7, 1974, at the New Providence Baptist Church; one daughter, Heather Dawn (Wrye) Glisson and husband Michael of Murray, Kentucky; one son, Matthew Heath Wrye and wife Amber of Murray, Kentucky; three sisters, Carolyn Walker, Shirley Thompson, and Kathy Hill and husband Barry all of Murray, Kentucky; one brother, Joe Wrye and wife Kathy of Murray, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Kayla Rushing and husband Payton, Lindsey McNutt and friend Jesse Burkeen, Riley Lane McNutt, and Kale Lacey Glisson all of Murray, Kentucky; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, September 24, 2021, at the Poplar Spring Baptist Church with Bro. Kevin Harris officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m., on Friday, September 24, 2021, at the Poplar Spring Baptist Church. The address to the church is as follows, 749 Poplar Springs Dr, Murray, Kentucky 42071.
