Delma Mae Thompson, age 88, died Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Brightview/Woodburn Assisted Living, Annandale, VA. She was born May 3, 1929 in New Concord, KY to the late Verchen (Buck) and Allie Hodges.
She lived most of her life in Centralia, IL where she met her husband Roy Thompson. She worked as a seamstress for a variety of companies in Centralia and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. After retirement, she and her husband moved to Almo, KY in 2000 where they lived until his death in 2006. She moved to Virginia in 2008 to be near her daughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Thompson, a daughter, Karla Leann; two sisters, Fay Austin and Shirley Hubbs, and one brother, Edwin Hodges.
Survivors include her daughter, Monica Tune and husband Mike, of Annandale, VA; three grandchildren: Michael Tune and husband Richard Shanahan of Washington D.C.; Adam Tune and wife Kimberly Tune of Lebanon, TN; Clayton Tune and wife Gina Tune of Annandale, VA; six great grandchildren; Brooks Tune, Isabella Tune, Dartanyen Saunders, Jaheim Robinson of Lebanon, TN; Otto and Titus Tune of Annandale, VA. She was a member of the Glendale Road church of Christ.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Mike Tune officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 1, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Michael Tune, Adam Tune, Clayton Tune, Corey Hubbs, Jeff Hagan and Richard Shanahan.
